At the end of the school year 2024-2025 the Vartholomiou High School implemented an event entitled: "Behind the Masks", with the aim of dramatizing and discussing gender roles.  This was created within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, with the aim of addressing and challenging gender stereotypes, especially in the context of education and youth. In particular, the project aimed to raise awareness of gender stereotypes in education, the media and the professional environment. In addition, it promoted gender-neutral approaches in schools, youth work and cultural environments, empowered young people to reflect critically on gender norms and their impact on identity, career choices and interpersonal relationships, and developed educational materials and tools, such as workshops, toolkits or theatre performances, to support gender equality. Finally, it trained teachers and students in inclusive practices.

The following students participated in the drama performance: Thompopoulos George, Kurti Arbi, Mitropoulou Vassiliki, Bourla Irini, Nicolaou Mariniki, Pomoni Archontia, Smerou Chrysa, Fligou Marilena.

In conclusion, programmes like Erasmus Gender Neutr-All are not just gender programmes but an educational experience that builds a freer, fairer and more respectful way of thinking. When implemented early in school age, they can lay the foundations for adults with awareness, respect for diversity and mental resilience.
