The last meeting of the GENDER NEUTR-ALL exchange Project 2022-1-FR01-KA220-SCH-000088056 was held in Evora of Portugal. Specifically, the meetings were implemented at the Colegio de Espirito Santo (CES)-Universidade de Evora from 5-7 May 2025.
Professors from the Lyceum of Vartholomiou, the Lyceum of Velo Corinthia,
the Agroupamento Escuola di Montemor-o-Novo and the Agroupamento Escuola di
Moura from Portugal as well as from the College de Saint Exugery and the Lycee
Delamare Deboutteville of Forges-les-Eaux in Normandy took part. Also
participated the responsible professors from the Universities of Rouen of
France, the Universidade de Evora and the University of Patras.
The aim of the project was the teachers training and consequently the
education of students in the context of gender equality as a value and a
fundamental right, as well as the understanding and deconstruction of gender
stereotypes.
Initially, management meetings were held to discuss the progress of the
project and the remaining actions until its completion. Afterwards, educational
activities were carried out by the professors of the school Agrupamentos de Moura
e Montemor and speeches were also given by teachers Dra Celia Peralta, Profa
Isabel Mesquita, Profa Fernanda Henriques and Profa Teresa Alvarez on the
subject of the project. The papers focused on the elimination of gender
stereotypes, intersectionality and inclusive pedagogical practices. In
addition, a session on quantitative research and dissemination strategies was
included.
According to the Colegio de Espirito Santo (CES)-Universidade de Evora:
"This project continues to build around intersectionality, i.e. the
dynamic combination of gender issues with other personal characteristics or
cultural identity (age, ethnicity, religion, etc.) since everyone has unique
experiences of discrimination related to the assumption that working for gender
equality also means working for cultural and social equality.
Recognising the important role of the school in shaping participatory
citizenship, this partnership project, based on collaboration between
universities and secondary schools, aims to produce training modules and
pedagogical tools to support educational staff and develop the skills of
adolescents, taking into account the educational, social and cultural realities
of the partner countries".
